Jose Mourinho is desperate to keep hold of both veteran Chelsea players Frank Lampard and John Terry if he makes a dramatic return to Stamford Bridge next season, according to reports in the Sun.
Speculation has been mounting this week that the self-styled ‘Special One’ is set for a second spell in charge of the west London club, with reports even going as far as suggesting that that he will be unveiled as the new coach on july 1.
And it now appears as though Mourinho, 50, will ask that both Lampard and Terry are kept on by the Blues next season, despite the former’s contract with the club running out this summer, while the latter’s deal in the capital only lasts until next year.
Midfield player Lampard has played 604 games for Chelsea in an illustrious 12-year career at the club, while skipper Terry has featured in 573 matches since making his Blues debut in 1998.
